What's it doing?

Tell us the symptom and we'll tell you what usually causes it — then send it over with one tap.

Step 1 · Pick the appliance

What we repair

Six appliances, one truck, most parts on board

If it heats, cools, spins or drains in your kitchen or laundry room, it's ours. Here's what we get called about most.

Cold

Refrigerators & freezers

  • Running constantly but never getting cold
  • Freezer works, fridge side is warm
  • Water pooling under the crisper drawers
  • Coils frosting over, fan clattering
Water

Washing machines

  • Won't drain, or stops full of water
  • Won't spin — clothes come out soaked
  • Leaking from the door boot or hose
  • Walking across the floor on spin cycle
Heat

Dryers

  • Tumbles fine but the drum stays cold
  • Two and three cycles to dry one load
  • Squealing, thumping or grinding
  • Shuts off early, or won't start at all
Heat

Ovens, ranges & cooktops

  • Won't heat, or won't hold temperature
  • Gas burner clicks but never lights
  • An F-code stuck on the display
  • Door latched shut after a self-clean
Water

Dishwashers

  • Standing water left in the bottom
  • Dishes come out gritty or still filmed
  • Leaking onto the kitchen floor
  • Dies mid-cycle or won't fill
Cold

Ice makers & wine coolers

  • No ice, or hollow and undersized cubes
  • Ice fused into one solid block
  • Leaking into or around the bin
  • Wine fridge drifting warm overnight

How it works

Four steps, no surprises on the invoice

The order matters here — you see the price before anyone picks up a screwdriver.

01

Tell us the symptom

Call or send the form. Have the model number handy if you can find it — it lets us load the right part before we leave.

02

On-site diagnosis

The tech tests the actual failure — motor, board, valve, seal — instead of swapping parts and hoping.

03

Written quote

Parts and labor, itemized, before any work starts. If replacing beats repairing, we'll tell you that instead.

04

Repair & warranty

Common parts ride on the truck, so most jobs finish the same visit. Parts and labor are covered.

Why CoreTemp

The part that's actually broken, not the part that's easy to sell

  • Diagnosis before parts

Every visit starts with testing, not guessing. You get told what failed and why it failed.

  • We'll talk you out of a bad repair

When the fix costs more than the appliance is worth, that's what we'll say — before you've spent anything on parts.

  • One tech, start to finish

The person who diagnoses it is the person who fixes it. Nothing gets lost in a handoff.

  • Clean exit

Floors protected, old parts hauled away, appliance pushed back and levelled where it belongs.

Before you call: find the model number

It's a small metal or paper tag with a model and serial number. Finding it takes thirty seconds and often saves a second trip — here's where each one hides.

Refrigerator
Inside, on the left wall near the crisper drawers — or behind the bottom kick plate.
Washer
Under the lid rim on top-loaders; around the door opening on front-loaders.
Dryer
Inside the door opening, on the rim you see when the door swings out.
Oven / range
Pull out the bottom storage drawer, or check the frame behind the open door.
Dishwasher
On the edge of the door — visible only when the door is open.

Questions

The things people ask before they book

Do you charge to come out and diagnose it?
There's a flat diagnostic fee for the visit, quoted to you on the phone before we schedule. If you go ahead with the repair, that fee is applied to the job — you're not paying twice.
How fast can someone get here?
Same-day slots are often available if you call in the morning; otherwise next-day is typical across Loudoun and the surrounding area. Call for the current schedule — it moves.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. Parts and labor are both covered — if the same failure comes back inside the warranty period, we come back out for it at no charge.
Should I just replace it instead?
Sometimes, and we'll say so. The rough rule: if the repair runs past half the cost of a comparable new unit and the appliance is already near the end of its expected life, replacing usually wins. You'll get that read before you commit to anything.
Do you work on built-in and high-end appliances?
Yes — Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador, Bosch and Miele included, alongside every mainstream brand. Built-in units sometimes need a part ordered in, and we'll tell you the lead time up front.
What should I have ready for the visit?
The model and serial number, a clear path to the appliance, and — most useful of all — when the problem started and what it does. "Started humming Tuesday, stopped cooling Thursday" narrows things down faster than any error code.
What do you accept for payment?
Card, tap-to-pay and check on completion. You'll have the itemized quote in hand before any of that comes up.
